I need to post these pictures before I load the new batch on to Photobucket or I'll go batty! This little guy was stuck to the zoo hospital one early morning. He was gone later when I remembered he was there.

While walking the dogs this morning, the Riverway was a riot of birdsong, especially the unfamiliar buzzing and twittering of migratory warblers. Bird watching while dogwalking is not very effective, so we brought the dogs home, and came back out with our binoculars and cameras.

Alexis and the dogs and I went to Cochituate State Park in Natick, although I think we wandered onto the grounds of the Wayland Town Beach. Charlie got in his first good swim of the year.

First spring brunch at Flann's. It was cold and drizzly out, but Alex, Alexis and I had a nice time.

We went to the Quincy Quarries reservation today, a former granite quarry that is now public land managed by the department of conservation and recreation. There was cool stuff to photograph before we even left the parking area.
( But wait, it gets much better. )

On Sunday we went to Elm Bank Reservation, in Wellesley Mass (Just outside of the rt. 95 loop that more or less defines the perimeter of Metro Boston). It's a collection of formerly privately held land that has been set aside to be used as open space. The Massachusetts Horticultural Society has buildings and greenhouses there, there are soccer fields and canoe landings, but a lot of it just looks like forest.
