PSA: Like Weather? Get a Dog.

wading
Unusual weather, even for New England.  Right at the time that we normally walk the dogs (6:00 a.m.) there was a thunderstorm complete with heavy downpours.  The dogs weren't having any of it, but we gave it the old college try (in two separate installments) and Alexis had to walk the 3/4 of a mile to where she parks her car anyway, so we're soaked.  At least it's not cold!

Charlie told me that since the river is flooding, perhaps I'd let him swim in it.  Poor guy, I wish we could spend a week doing whatever he wanted.  Swimming and sleep mostly.  Beats work any day.

Hopefully the dogs got done what they needed to, cause that's their only chance until lunch.

I hate getting soaked when it's raining...:P
It's good you still took the dogs out though, I would have just put them in the backyard for awhile and stayed dry...;)
They're lucky, my dogs have to wait until we get home in the afternoon...no lunch time fun! :(

Ah yes, "the backyard." Some day. Some day.

We rent so that's why we have a backyard now...plus with the two dogs we didn't think it was super fair to live in an apartment...plus right now this second we have three dogs...;)
But yea, I don't care if we ever own a house, I am happy renting. But fortunately with Dan's new job we can actually afford a decent house in a few years.
I am thinking good thoughts for you two though, you will get that house someday! :)

Charlie will go out in the rain? That's amazing...my ladies typically don't tolerate the rain (sadly, I have to kick them out the door). I'm glad he's a water dog - I love the pix of him swimming!

Usually Charlie is a big butt about the rain, but he was whimpering to go out, so out he went. He's so funny--he'll jump into any body of water, but minces around puddles and cringes in the rain.

That's how you know he's a pibble...I once had to shove my Eleanor out the door during a rain storm because it had been like 12 hours since she'd last gone out...and she would run straight into a lake any chance she got!

BTW, I love the avatar pic of C in the water with his tail up back...great shot!
